We present the results of the first major survey on work–life balance in B Corp Companies in Spain.
At ROSAPARKS, we believe sustainability goes far beyond reducing emissions or using recycled materials. It is also a matter of equity, wellbeing, and labour rights. That is why, when Mustela shared its Big Fight initiative with us, we saw a key opportunity to address work–life balance and shared responsibility through an innovative, data-driven approach. Together, we designed a pioneering survey with a clear goal: to understand the reality of work–life balance in B Corp companies and spark a debate that drives change.
On March 11, at Triple Ferraz Madrid, we presented the results at the Coffee with Impact: Work–life balance in B Corp Companies event, a gathering that brought together leading voices from the B Corp ecosystem to reflect on progress and challenges around work–life balance within companies holding this positive-impact certification. This event was organised in collaboration with B Lab Spain, the organisation that leads B Corp certification and promotes business best practices with positive impact.

The survey: key data to rethink work–life balance
The study, led by Mustela and designed by ROSAPARKS, included participation from 47 people from B Corp companies, representing 27.5% of the surveyed universe. The results confirmed what we suspected: despite progress, work–life balance remains a challenge in the business world.
Some of the most relevant findings were:
- B Corp companies have implemented measures such as flexible working hours and remote work, but these are not enough to ensure genuine work–life balance.
- The lack of resources and the low involvement of men in shared responsibility remain two fundamental barriers to change.
- Innovation in work–life balance has stalled: many companies are unaware of innovative practices they could implement, and almost half do not sign up to any specific initiative.
Transforming company culture: from data to action
The event featured a roundtable where experts and representatives from B Corp companies analysed the results and shared strategies to move the issue forward. Participants included Laura Baena (Club de Malasmadres and Asociación Yo No Renuncio), María Aparicio (DeBuenCafé), Lu Méndez (parenting and work–life balance consultant), and Daniel Hervás Espert (Laboratorios Expanscience, Mustela). Moderation was led by Alba Guzmán, from ROSAPARKS.
Some of the key ideas that emerged during the conversation were:
- “It’s not just about adding policies; it’s about changing the mindset within organisations,” Lu Méndez noted, stressing that simple, low-cost measures can make a difference.
- Laura Baena highlighted the importance of leadership involvement: “Without work–life balance, equality is not possible. We need companies that listen to and trust their teams.”
- María Aparicio warned about the gap between company policies and their real-world implementation: “Many companies include work–life balance in their values, but the reality is that many employees don’t even know what measures exist.”
- Daniel Hervás Espert insisted that work–life balance should not be seen as an optional benefit, but as a fundamental right with social and economic impact.
Communication as a lever for change
At ROSAPARKS, we believe the key to transforming company culture lies in communication. Implementing measures is not enough; it is essential to build a narrative that drives change from within. Designing this survey for Mustela enabled us not only to gather valuable data, but also to strategically position the work–life balance debate within the B Corp ecosystem.
These kinds of initiatives demonstrate the power of creative communication applied to sustainability and social impact. As an agency specialising in brand purpose and sustainability communications, at ROSAPARKS we will continue to drive projects that transform the way brands address the major challenges of our time.
