This is the latest campaign we have created at ROSAPARKS for the NGO Dale Una Vuelta, with a clear objective: to prevent pornography consumption among adolescents and to promote socio-affective education as a key tool to counteract the messages of pornography, prevent gender-based violence, and build healthier and more egalitarian relationships.
More and more children are accessing pornography before the age of 11. The campaign “Pornography leaves a mark. So does our inaction” denounces how this early exposure is influencing the construction of adolescent socio-affective relationships and calls for critical and urgent socio-affective education in schools.
A creative approach to highlight an uncomfortable reality
Pornography has become the unofficial manual for sexuality for a generation. A manual where violence, submission, and the absence of consent and intimacy are the norm.
With “Pornography leaves a mark,” the NGO Dale Una Vuelta and ROSAPARKS warn of the consequences of consuming pornography at early ages. Consequences include the confusion between fiction and reality, the reproduction of violent patterns, objectification, and toxic gender roles, as well as emotional disconnection and a lack of empathy in relationships.
A creative commitment with social impact
For ROSAPARKS, this campaign demonstrates how creativity can become a tool for social transformation when it is put at the service of causes that cannot wait. “Supporting Dale Una Vuelta in this campaign is our way of contributing to raising awareness about a problem that directly affects young people, and helping to build necessary conversations to prevent sexual violence. A call for collective action
The campaign invites schools to request socio-affective workshops, families and communities to open dialogue, and public administrations to promote the most comprehensive socio-affective education possible. Additionally, anyone can access the Social Media Kit and downloadable materials to amplify the message and help it reach further.
“Pornography leaves a mark” is, ultimately, a collective cry that denounces a worrying reality and demands urgent action. Because silence and passivity are not neutral: inaction also leaves a mark.
