Promote the Sustainable Development Goals among children and do it in a way that awakens their imagination, their critical thinking and their capacity to act.
The challenge was not only to explain the SDGs, but to turn them into something alive, close and fun, capable of inspiring girls and boys to believe that they can also change the world. In a society where stereotypes and inequalities still impose limits, the challenge was to offer a story that breaks with traditional roles and encourages curiosity, empathy and equality from childhood.
Solution
Mane and the Magic Clock is a collection of stories that connects the universe of the SDGs with fantasy, friendship and equality. Mane, a curious girl and captain of her soccer team, finds a watch with 17 numbers, one for each SDG, which guides her and her gang to transform their environment. The story is inspired by the five lines of action of the 2030 Agenda and seeks to turn reading and imagination into a powerful tool to sow awareness, equality and hope from an early age. The project has a website with storydoings, crafts and educational materials to continue promoting the SDGs among children,
The Adventures of Mane and the Magic Clock has been recommended by the UN SDG Reading Club, an initiative that promotes children's books that inspire new generations to learn about and engage with the Sustainable Development Goals.
