IS CREATIVITY A HIGH-RISK PROFESSION?<\/p>\n\n
It is no secret that mental exhaustion and stress kill creativity. But without a doubt, job insecurity, intense competition, and the phenomenon of \u201cburnout\u201d are affecting not only idea generation, but also the mental health of our creatives.<\/p>\n\n
Last February, the c de c \u2013 Club de Creatives <\/strong><\/a>launched #DPC<\/strong>, a job and emotional support program for creatives<\/strong>, which for some is nothing more than a symptom of the difficult times this profession is going through and, for others, a necessary first step toward improving the mental and working health of creative professionals.<\/p>\n\n At ROSAPARKS, Brands with a Purpose<\/strong>, we support these kinds of initiatives without hesitation; however, we clearly acknowledge that they are not enough. Why? Because we must not only address the consequences, but also one of the root problems.<\/p>\n\n Agencies must be self-critical, take a step back, and analyze what measures we can implement within our own teams to prevent job insecurity, hyper-competition, intensive-extensive schedules, pressure, and the poor practices of some clients that are not corrected\u2026 in short, everything that ultimately leads our teams down a path of misery.<\/p>\n\n Let us not apply a patch; let us avoid causing harm.<\/p>\n\n And let us start with ourselves, our processes, and the way of working (or living) that can and must improve in creative agencies. Not everything bad that happens to us is because of what happens outside.<\/p>\n\n Luc\u00eda Bobadilla<\/a>, Creative Director at ROSAPARKS <\/strong>discussed this and other issues with 10 other creatives in a roundtable organized by IPMARK<\/a> at Impact Hub Barcelona<\/strong>, and the conclusions will be compiled in the October special.<\/p>\n\n
